The 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo has only barely arrived at Future Hyundai of Concord, and the rumor mill about another Veloster variant is already turning. More specifically, the word on the street is that Hyundai tuned up the original Veloster just enough to make it Turbo, but left room for more tweaks that could turn into a so-called Veloster Turbo R-Spec.

We told you a bit about the Turbo last month - it's 201-horsepower engine, new 18-inch wheels, and aerodynamic exterior tweaks. But you may have wondered, as we did, if Hyundai could put just a little more power into the Veloster. After all - they barely touched the suspension.

We're thinking they can. And in a recent chat with Motor Authority, a Hyundai source let it slip that that could be the direction they're headed. This could result in a turbo with mechanically adjustable dampers, a lower ride height, and an independent rear suspension, among other things. And maybe a bigger engine - something along the lines of the 2.0-liter in the Hyundai Genesis Coupe? We can only hope. But, again, these are just some early speculations.
