As some of you may remember, Hyundai had to retract some claims about their vehicles getting more gas mileage than they actually were. There were fears that this snafu was going to cause a drop in sales but here at Future Hyundai of Concord, we are happy to tell you that Hyundai is reporting record setting sales in the U.S. for this past November.

This comes on the heels of another record breaking month during November of 2011 as well. Total sales were up 8% since then and they are also up 8% for the entire year. What we really have to thank is the Hyundai Elantra that saw its sales go up by 28% just for November  due in part to the introduction of the new hatchback and coupe models. The Hyundai Sonata was ahead by 13% as well helping to push the total Hyundai sales count to 53,487.

President and CEO of Hyundai Motor America, John Krafcik said in a statement, " With increased Elantra availability, thanks to the recently added third shift in our Alabama plant, and demand high for everything in our lineup from Accent,  to Equus we're looking forward to breaking our all-time annual sales record early in December."1

Krafcik went on to say that Hyundai was encouraged by the sales recovery they experienced after Hurricane Sandy swept through the northeast. Although we were lucky enough to dodge the super storm on our coast, we always like to see sales improving here at Future Hyundai of Concord.
