Back in 2006, Hyundai released the premium full-size Azera sedan. And while it impressed car buyers with its long list of features, comfortable ride and powerful 3.8-liter V6, some of its siblings stole the spotlight. That's right, the new Sonata and Elantra garnered more attention and awards than the Azera, and Hyundai wasn't about to stand for that. No, their intention is to have a whole lineup of attention-getters, so for 2012, they completely redesigned the Azera.
It premiered in November at the L.A. Auto Show, and as you read this, it's on its way to dealerships like Future Hyundai of Concord.
You'll notice that the new Azera looks quite a bit different than the 2011 model, and is now more in tune with the fluidic design language of the newer Sonata and Elantra sedans. But the engine got an upgrade too! The 3.3-liter V6 is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission, offering up 293 horsepower (that's ten more than last year's 3.8-liter V6). Fuel economy also gets a bump to a combined EPA-estimated (and best-in-class) 23 mpg.
Standard safety features this year include nine standard airbags, impact-reducing front seats, electronic stability control, traction control, Brake Assist and active head restraints. Heated leather seats in front and back, dual-automatic climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, rearview camera, power rear sunshade, and a navigation system are just a few of the standard comfort features Hyundai has included for 2012. Other available options include HID headlights, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof and 19-inch wheels.
With all of those features, it's really no wonder that Hyundai is expecting Azera to earn some of the spotlight back from some of the other impressively designed to new Hyundai models. to Contact Future Hyundai of Concord via our website at your convenience to chat with a member of our team to learn more about the new Azera and arrange a test drive!
