Building on the success of the 2012 Elantra, Hyundai plans to expand the lineup to include two more Elantra models. Don't worry, sedan shoppers, you'll still find the four-door Elantra at Future Hyundai of Concord, it will just be joined by a two-door and five-door variant.

Why? We think Mike O'Brien, VP of Product Planning, Hyundai, sums it up best when he says, "One sedan - even North American Car of the Year - can't satisfy everyone."1 So, for 2013, Hyundai is releasing an Elantra Coupe and an Elantra GT.

The Coupe will be essentially the same Elantra, built on the same wheel-base and featuring all of the in-cabin technology and design features that have helped the original sedan rise to the top. The only difference being two fewer doors.

The GT is, of course, a five-door hatchback. It's a bit shorter than the sedan, but only by two inches. Despite this, it still out-measures almost every other car in its class for interior cargo room with 51 cubic feet of space. Plus, Hyundai says, this is one of the lightest hatchbacks to grace American showrooms. Yup, it weighs less than the Mazda3, Focus, and the Golf. And it's incredibly fuel efficient at 39 mpg highway.

If either of these new models have caught your attention, be sure to stay tuned with us to learn more about them as their arrival date gets closer. If you think you'd still prefer the sedan, feel free to drop by our showroom at 1051 Burnett Ave Concord, CA 94520 to take one for a spin, or contact us via our website at your convenience to chat with a member of our team.
