Today, we have some technology-related Hyundai news, that we think is pretty exciting. Later in the year, our favorite automaker will unveil the new Hyundai Virtual Guide application for smartphones and tablets. Taking the place of the bulky booklets sitting in gloveboxes across the country, the app uses two- and three-dimensional tracking to identify parts of the vehicle and provide information about them. The customer simply has to position their devices camera of the feature they want to learn more about.
The "augmented reality" app will initially be available for the Sonata, with support for other models coming soon after.
“The Virtual Guide is aimed at educating our owners on how to use the functions and features of their vehicle,” said Frank Ferrara, executive vice president of customer satisfaction. “We modernized the idea of an owner’s manual to provide the highest-quality user experience for the growing population of tech savvy consumers.”
