Bisimoto began by utilizing the Hyundai brand's 2.4-liter Theta II power plant as its starting point for building the engine. It then strengthened its internals with fast-burning flex-fuel, a high-boost turbocharger, and upgraded engine management system that all combine and produce an output of more than 700 horsepower through the six-speed manual transmission. In creating this powerful engine, Bisimoto envisioned world-beating performance and technology into one package. Bisi Ezerioha, owner and chief engineer at Bisimoto Engineering, had this to say about the impressive engine:
"The 2016 Tucson was the perfect platform for this year’s build, offering me the opportunity to captivate a wider audience by tapping into the growing popularity of the CUV market. After hundreds of hours of testing and developing new engine components, we're confident that this power plant can handle what we’re asking from it, delivering a fresh, race-bred take on the 2016 Tucson with performance and reliability at its core."
To go along with the mind-boggling output numbers, Bisimoto Engineering gave a clean and powerful "street fighter" look that goes along with an air-ride suspension, white five-star race-spec wheels, and sticky rubber. It also features a custom roll cage and the Bisimoto signature rounded-out look to maximize its unique and tough look.
