Why Should I Change My Oil?

We all know that cars need their oil changed. However, you might be wondering why? What exactly does your oil do that makes it so vital to your vehicle's health? As your engine runs, the individual pieces rub together, producing friction and heat. This would normally start to affect your engine parts, and might even start to cause them to break down. That's where the oil comes in.

Oil lubricates your moving parts, and carries away the heat. However, your oil won't last forever. The engine heat eventually causes it to break down, and it ceases to be as effective. If you go too long without changing your oil, it can even form a sludge, and clog up parts of your engine. It is important to change your oil before this happens. It varies from car to car, and how often you drive, but a good rule of thumb is to change your oil every 5,000 miles or every six months (whichever comes first). While it may seem like a pain to change your oil, it is a lot easier (not to mention cheaper) than changing your engine. If it's time to change your oil, we're here to help you out. Just schedule an appointment with our service center, and we'll take care of the rest.
